Hi! I open commissions once in a while when I have some free time from work!

I usually work with a picture of the person, but if you are not confortable with sharing one there’s no problem and I can work without! (some have drawings of themselves and/or sprites and this is also good reference!)
A tiny description of your personality or trait (to know if you’re more shy or extrovert) can be really helpful with posture!

For the classpect, I use generic pictures as reference! (If you want to change the colors of the shoes or other detail, just ask!

I'm so sorry I forgot that you're not too good with memes here's the source of the "is sharkboi's skin smooth" thing OTL this comic artist, branson reese trolled a bunch of people on twitter and tumblr bc he kept saying that shark skin is super smooth (it's not, it has sandpaper like texture) and I just thought it was super funny OTL OTL OTL

Actually, shark skin is rough!! It's covered in a lot of microscopic, rigid teeth (or denticles) that make it feel like sandpaper, even if the skin beneath them is soft! ^^

I learned a lot about sharks today! :0

Going through your blog always lifts my mood because you respond to so many asks with a little sprite of yourself smiling and it's so cheerful and the cutest thing ever

Just as a note- you seem to have left out the claspers on sharkboi. Or just made them small/not easily noticeable? Idk just biologically there should be a little bit more to the back fins to show dirk as not-female. Partially it's that I can't tell exactly what is pectoral/caudal with his fins, but that's due in part to dorsal position and he's a mermaid, so none of my accuracy stuff really matters? Idk look up claspers and the ilk, check just in case.

Strong Opinions™ on jake characterisation

I feel like an aspect that makes Jake so relatable to me is this… this way he underhandedly tries to make things go his way, even if it isn’t actually a strategy that works out for him very well.

Like. My mind always jumps back to the Jane pesterlog, where he basically corners her the second she screws up and fails to confess properly. She’s said the thing that allows him to absolve himself of the responsibility of turning her down, and he fucking runs with it. 

The other thing my mind always jumps to is when his and Dirk’s relationship goes sour. Rather than talk about it he clearly would rather just not deal, because confronting it or using his words to speak his feelings of suffocation puts the onus on him. 

In that sense that’s why I stand with the opinion that jake is kind of an asshole. He’s not a bad kid but also he isn’t very forward in getting what he wants, to the detriment of those around him sometimes. 

I guess this post kinda stems from tiredness of seeing people who dismiss or dislike jake for being “bad”. Or by demeaning his character by making him into an uwu cinnamon roll. Jake has a lot of room to explore, he’s so caught up in his posturing and his avoidant nature. At his core I feel like he’s a character that has a lot of want. He wants things and tries to get them through underhanded means. Even tho they sometimes blow up in his face. 

Also I feel like I have to hedge by saying this isn’t meta, this isn’t a “”“"hot take”“”“” im literally just explaining why I find Jake, at least the way I’ve come to interpret his character, is aggressively relatable, especially lately, but it’s also for this reason he’s slowly become like. Maybe my favourite character??

I love all of your work and that shark boi! I can just imagine an au with Shark Dirk swimming around the ocean all by his lonesome and then a giant fucking storm happens and he gets knocked out and swept into Jake's lake. (There are sharks that go fresh and salt water) Jake was in his cave during the storm and when he comes out to assess the damage there's someone else there! Unconscious but they're alive and there and really fucking pretty holy shit. Poor Dirk is so confused and trapped.

There's this song called time machine by the cog is dead, picture a dirkjake au based off it. How cool but sad would be, like the dude's love is sick and he wants them to stay so he defies modern science to make something impossible real, just to keep them alive.
